Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – January 1st, 2009 – On New Years Day, Garrison Carida made its third annual appearance in the Mummers Day Parade in Philadelphia. Members braved the bitter cold and winds to march through the streets of center city Philly in this annual tradition. Though the crowds were slightly thinner than prior years due to the cold, Garrison Carida brought smiles to many faces and warmed the hearts of young children. The Garrison marched under the Landi Group in the comic division and performed a skit for the judges at city hall. This year’s skit was Vader vs. Rocky. In the judging area, the imperials formed a half circle as Darth Vader and Rocky had a lightsaber fight. In true Philly fashion, Rocky prevailed and the troupe continued their way past the judges.
